sosolaMy name is Mike. My mother, who was a single parent, passed away in 1997 leaving us (five children) alone without anyone to support us with the basic necessities such as food, clothes, school fees and uniforms. Due to this fact, I dropped out of school. One day in the same year, I met Mr. Manuel Kamangire, to whom I explained all that was happening to me and my brothers due to the death of our mother. He was concerned and he promised to do something on the matter. This encouraged me very much. Just shortly after this I was registered at Lizulu Orphan Care Project where I started getting the support I needed such as food, clothes, blankets and school fees. This enabled me to go back to school. I am also grateful to the project because they did not only take care of my physical needs but also my spiritual needs by teaching me the Word of God. I finished secondary school education in the year 2000 and I passed the final examination. After this I worked as teacher at a private school up to 2004. Then I joined the Malawi Police Service up to this day.

Today I am no longer an orphan, I am able to support and sustain myself as well as my brothers. I have been able to pay school fees for them and one of them has also joined the Police Service as a policeman. In short, three of us out of the five orphans are now civil servants. All this is due to the charity work of Lizulu Orphan Care Project.
To the partner organization that helps Lizulu Orphan Care Project with funding, I thank you wholeheartedly. You have raised me up to this stage. God bless you abundantly.Above all I thank God the Almighty Owner and Sustainer of everything. Praise be to Him.

Mike was a part of the Lizulu Orphan Care Program, is now a member of the Malawi Police Service and volunteers for the Lizulu Orphan Program.
