Linda
El Pozon School, Cartagena
Student 10th Grade
My name is Linda Montes Villadiego. I am 14 years old and in the tenth grade. I began studying at CDA when I entered the sixth grade. I live with my parents, Osmar and Maria, and my younger brother Osmar who, just like me, always dreamed of attending this school. I liked it very much when I was transferred to this school because I could see and feel the difference. It is much better than the other schools that I attended. I think that the CDA School is good because they teach with a different pedagogical model and they have also taught us to love ourselves and, to me, that is very important. I had the opportunity to be in the prayer group, to learn that I had musical skills, and to discover that I like music very much. I also could learn a lot more about God. I feel that I have grown and learned from people who have shown me a lot of love and commitment for what they do.

Lucero Alto Student
6th Grade
My name is Lury. I am 13 years old and I live with my mother and brothers. I have studied at the CDA School for four years and I have always thought that this is a very good school. Here I have learned that even though sometimes we have to go through difficult times in our lives, no matter how hard those difficulties are, even if they are financial difficulties, God is my provider.
I am very happy at school because I have learned new and interesting things. For example, my physics teacher has taught me about speed and acceleration; my science teacher has taught me about the beautiful nature that my country has and about recycling. We are also reading a lot at school. I have read two books in six months! It has been difficult, but I know that reading is important. I like how my teachers explain things to me, the computer room, the audiovisual resources, the lab, and the decoration of the classrooms.
I am very thankful to the school, my teachers, and all the people who work at the school because they really love me and take care of me and my classmates. I also want to thank God because He makes sure that we are all protected.

Altos De Cazuca Student
11th Grade
Before attending the CDA School, I used to attend the Almirante Padilla School, but due to my family’s financial difficulties, I could not continue there. So I enrolled in the District School of the area. In that school, the teachers were young high school graduates who were doing their military service and community work, but they were very rude and disrespectful so I left the school before finishing the school year. A while later we heard about the CDA School. We went there, talked to the directors and, fortunately, they had a place for me in the grade that I needed because a student had just left the school.
Now, after attending the CDA School, I have a rich spiritual life. I am a helpful student, I am respectful and my grades are not bad. I always think about improving and being better every day.
My short term goal is to graduate and to get a good score in the ICFES examinations. I want to be the best I can be because I want to show that I can be better and because I know that if I am a good student, the CDA School can help me study for a career. I want to study cuisine and open my own restaurant.
